In Action in Mexico
In October last year we visited our friends at Fundación Checo Pérez in Guadalajara, Mexico and spent some time at one of their projects, an orphanage called Casa Hogar El Oasis de la Niñez, which translates to Home The Oasis of Childhood.
Our board member Katie prepared fun lessons for the children to learn English, teaching them things like greetings and counting. Read more in Katie’s trip report.
Funds raised through the Checo In Action range in the charity shop allowed us to buy children school shoes, stationary and personal care items.
In this country of vibrant colours, we also scoured the markets for women’s groups selling beautiful handmade goodies. Check out the online charity shop for the Mexico-themed functional art in the Checo In Action range, including colourful beaded coin purses, necklaces and beaded keyrings in the shape of parrots, whales, corn and more!
